The Director of Polimoda, Danilo Venturi and Alvise Ziche, Head of Education, travelled to Japan to visit Bunka Fashion College, a long-time collaborator of Polimoda.
As well as visiting the laboratories and understanding firsthand the educational approach of the world-renowned Japanese College known for its technical expertise and patternmaking training, Venturi and Ziche attended the Graduate Fashion Show, in which one Polimoda student, Federico Cina, also presented his collection.
At Osaka Bunka, the show was very interesting in the exact mix between the avant-garde and tradition. We saw also, Tsurugi Yoshioka, a young talent we want to bring and show in Florence, very promising.
Mr Venturi also hosted a seminar at Tokyo Bunka entitled Fashion is a Beautiful Chaos, presenting the next generation of education and what this means for the industry. This special lecture was attended by students, alumni, faculty and journalists from Tokyo and abroad.
FASHION AS WE USED TO KNOW IT IS OVER. All ITS CODES ARE BROKEN AND ROLES ARE MIXED-UP, YET IT IS ALL STAYING MAGICALLY TOGETHER. IN THIS BEAUTIFUL CHAOS WE CAN SEE A GLIMPSE OF WHAT THE FUTURE WILL BE.
