Fashion Jewelry, understood as decorative ornaments for the body, has been used since time immemorial and is still a form of expression today.Â
The short course in Fashion Jewelry provides students with an understanding of the cultural and historical background of fashion jewelry, as well as an insight into the development of a jewelry design, from the initial idea through to the final concept.
Adopting an innovative approach that looks at the history of fashion jewelry but also introduces design practices and techniques, this course is overseen by a team of lecturers with professional experience in the industry whose individual feedback will enable students to create a body of work that they can develop into a portfolio.
Florence is home to master artisans who are experts in traditional Italian handcrafted jewelry, eager to pass on their knowledge to fashion professionals. During this intensive course, students will be taught the elements, tools and technical skills of jewel design.

Outcomes
Students will produce a visual portfolio for a new jewelry design concept and a jewelry mockup.
