Earlier this year over 60,000 students from the best fashion and business schools all around the world submitted their work to ISKO for the annual ISKO I-SKOOL ™ Denim Talent Awards, and incredibly, two Polimoda students walked away with top honours.
Sara Armellin, who just completed her third year of Fashion Design at Polimoda, won the Best Show Piece Award for her denim outfit inspired by the theme ‘Genderful’. Selected by a jury including representatives from 7 For All Mankind, Swarovski, Vogue Italia and the Capsule tradeshow, Sara’s work was shown on the the runway with the 15 other finalists at BASE in Milan.
Sara Giordano, who just finished her second year of undergraduate in Fashion Marketing Management, won the prestigious Marketing Award from ISKO. Amongst 16 finalist students, 5 groups were given the challenge to test their theoretical knowledge by actually designing a professional marketing project applied to the denim industry, and the team led by Sara, indeed won.
ISKO™ is the world’s number one producer of premium denim, and their I-Skool Denim Talent Awards focus on the future of the industry. Polimoda has a strong history with the Denim Talent Awards, as newly graduated student Farah Wali won the Avery Dennison RBIS Award last year, and in 2015, alumna Julie Siegemund won the Marketing Award and Violante Toscani the Active Jeanswear Prize offered by Lee.
