This course is for students, young fashion designers and anyone who needs to organise and prepare a portfolio that proves their creativity and professional preparation. Your portfolio is a tool for self-promotion, indispensable for job interviews, competitions or when undertaking specialist studies.
In the world of fashion the first impression makes all the difference, therefore successful visual communication is extremely important. Assembly of fashion illustrations is a long, difficult task, but fashion is a world dominated by images, so your work must be presented in its best light, reflecting your pride in it.
The purpose of your portfolio is to arouse maximum interest, to encourage the viewer to turn the pages, looking forward to what has yet to come.
Each designer needs several different books: one telling his history, one presenting his creative artistic world, with his personal vision of style and others that are more commercial, more client-oriented with a personal interpretation of the brand concerned. In this case the book must organised so that it meets its promotional function: you must find out about the company, discover what it has produced over recent seasons and what are its market objectives. All this will help you to understand how to reorganise your work, bearing in mind the person who will be viewing it.
The aim of this short but intense summer professional portfolio course is to guide students towards a result that highlights their individual capacities. To achieve this aim, participants are, on the one hand, prompted in class by stimuli and input from different environments (trends, marketing, art) and, on the other, accompanied along a well-defined strictly personal path linked to each individual’s future plans
