Short and Orientation courses

You have decided to enrol in the selected Polimoda Short/Orientation Course (hereinafter also referred to as “the Course”), organized by the Association “Ente per le Arti Applicate alla Moda ed al Costume”, having its registered office at Villa Favard, Via Curtatone, 1, 50123 – Firenze (hereinafter also referred to as “Polimoda”), which will take place in the selected dates with weekly attendance from Monday to Saturday. In any case, Polimoda’s Management reserves the right to make, at any time, any possible necessary change to the educational, organizational and logistic manners of the chosen Course. It is also intended now that Polimoda reserves also the right to change the start/end date of the Short/Orientation Course at its own discretion.

You declare to have read and examined, prior to purchase, the Course description in which are clearly shown the main features of the Course, the schedule (including the number of teaching hours), the price and the payment methods/deadlines. The duration of the Short Courses can range from 1 week to 4 weeks, based on the Course chosen, with mandatory attendance. The Orientation Course duration is 1 week with mandatory attendance.

Some of the lessons may be performed online via the internet, and thus video-audio link between the Students and the teacher; in respect to these lessons, the Student will be provided with all necessary instructions, credential, and links in order to be able to connect to the virtual classes through the platform that Polimoda will decide to use for the delivery of the on-line lessons. In such a case the presence of the Student at the lessons, as well as his/her eventual absence, will be detected by means of the e-learning platform that Polimoda will use for the delivery of the online lessons. The setting of the online lessons may also provide for the uploading of the documents, of any type, possibly made by the Student as part of his/her participation in the Course, for sharing them with the teacher and/or other students. It is therefore intended that the image and voice of the Student and/or the uploaded/shared documents (e.g. creations, projects, essays, the screen of their own devices, etc.) shall be thus transmitted, remotely and in real-time, to the teacher and to the class of the reference course; moreover, the setting may also provide for the audio/video-recording, by the platform, of the images, voices, and documents above, during the training activity. At the end of the eventual audio/video-recorded lessons and at the end of the Course, these lessons, including all relevant contents above specified (images, voices, documents), may also be kept on the platform and within the institutional digital archives of Polimoda without limits of space and time, in order to be used for educational, institutional and promotional purposes by Polimoda. Anyhow, there will not be the possibility of downloading the lessons on the personal computer devices used by the students from time to time.

Some editions of Polimoda Short/Orientation Courses can also be attended entirely online.

The final certificate of attendance will be issued solely to students who have attended at least the 80% of the total hours of the course.

The course will only be confirmed if the minimum number of students deemed appropriate by the competent Board of Polimoda is reached; should enrolments not reach said minimum number, the entire tuition fee will be promptly reimbursed to the student. No further claim can be made apart from reimbursement of the entire fee. The tuition fee due payment must be made according to the conditions and deadlines provided. All fees must be paid in euros. All bank charges and commissions belong to the student. The tuition fees include educational service, teaching equipment, lecture notes.

In order to formalize your enrolment in the Course you need:
1) to pay the full tuition fee by and no later than 15 days before the start date of the Course. It is intended that the guarantee of the success of the payment within the relevant deadlines, made by the same, has an essential and relevant character in order to complete your purchase of the course. In the event that the payment is not successful, actually the order shall be considered dissolved according to and for the purposes of art. 1456 c.c. and the student shall be immediately informed by email of the cancellation of the order. In order to ensure the security of the payments made on the website and to prevent any fraud, Polimoda reserves the right to ask the student, in case of payment by credit card in which the holder of the order is different from the card’s holder, to provide the identity card of the latter. The document must be currently valid. In the same request, the deadline within which the document has to arrive at Polimoda will be specified. In any case, this term shall not exceed 5 working days starting from the reception of Polimoda’s request. Pending the requested document, the order shall be suspended. The student has to send the requested documents within the mentioned term. In the event that Polimoda does not receive the credit card’s holder identity card by the term indicated in the Polimoda’s request or receives expired or invalid documents, this order shall be resolved by law in accordance with and for the purposes of art. 1456 c.c. and the order consequently deleted, except for Polimoda’s right to restore any damages it may suffer due to the student’s non-compliance behavior. The cancellation of the order, shall be notified to the student by e-mail within and not more than 5 working days after the expiration of the deadline for sending the documents requested by Polimoda, with a refund of the amount due, without undue delay and in any case, within 15 working days from the order cancelation. It is declared, since now, that if the online payment method is chosen, Polimoda uses BNL’s secure payment which uses the SSL security protocol. The confidential credit card’s details (card number, holder, expiration date, security code) are encrypted and transmitted directly to the payment manager without passing through the servers which Polimoda uses. Polimoda does not have access and neither store the credit card data used by the student for the payment of the Course.


If requested, the commercial invoice shall be issued. A commercial invoice shall be sent to the student by e-mail. For the invoice’s issue, the information provided by the student through the form shall be taken as authentic. The student undertakes to hold Polimoda indemnified and harmless of any damages, liability obligation and/or sanction may be derived from the same and/or be enforced if such information is not accurate and/or does not correspond to the truth. No change in the invoice shall be possible after the issue of the invoice.

For any amount, 100% of the tuition fee will be reimbursed to the student in case of withdrawal notified in writing to Polimoda, by registered communication, at least 60 days prior to the commencement of the course; 50% of the tuition fee will be reimbursed to the student in case of withdrawal notified in writing to Polimoda, by registered communication, at least 30 days prior to the commencement of the course. No refund will be made if withdrawal is notified less than 30 days before commencement of the course. Notice of withdrawal received from non-EU students will be promptly forwarded to the Italian Consulate/Embassy which may have issued a study visa on the basis of the Polimoda enrolment certification. If requested, the commercial invoice shall be issued.

2) to digitally sign the enrolment contract in the chosen Polimoda Short/Orientation course (including the Student Regulation for Short/Orientation Courses) by connecting to the link to the e-signature platform that will be sent to you by Polimoda, via e-mail, upon receipt of your payment and that will envisage the conditions referred to in the present terms and conditions; participation in the courses involves the strict observance of the Polimoda Student Regulations for Short/Orientation Courses. The undersigned Student also declares that he/she has read and understood the Student Regulations for Polimoda Short/Orientation Courses as published on the website www.polimoda.com, which are an integral and substantive part of this enrolment contract, and that, by processing this order, he/she accepts said Student Regulations in full, undertaking specifically herewith to abide by all terms and conditions set forth therein, throughout the entire period of attendance on the Course.

Compliance with said Student Regulations is an essential clause of the contract between the enrolled student and Polimoda. Students must respect the equipment and school facilities. The Management reserves the right to expel the student who has been guilty of a serious disciplinary violation and to claim compensation for any damages caused. It is intended that the obligations relating to compliance with the Student’s Regulation are essential and relevant, so that the student’s failure to comply with one of the conditions required by it, will cause the immediate termination of the enrolment contract.

The student will be required to digitally sign all papers concerning his/her enrolment in the Course including the Student Regulations in question, in order to acknowledge and confirm his/her full acceptance of the same, in the awareness that failure to do so will prevent the undersigned Student from attending the Course. Contractual relations between Polimoda and the students are ruled only by i) the enrolment contract and the correspondent Student Regulations and ii) by the Italian law that the parties declare to choose and accept. For any dispute regarding this contract that may arise between Polimoda and the student, the jurisdiction shall exclusively be of Italian Courts and the venue of Florence shall exclusively be competent. We remind you that in order to attend study programs in Italy, some Non-EU Citizens are required to apply for a student visa by submitting certification of enrolment (in Italian) to the Italian Embassy/Consulate of their home country. This certificate will be issued by Polimoda and sent to you upon confirmation of your payment and signature of the enrolment contract. In the event of refusal, by the competent authorities, to issue the student visa requested by the Student to be able to begin the Course, the entire tuition fee already paid will be refunded to the Student, on condition that the student has not started to attend the Course and submits to Polimoda the official documentation proving refusal of the study visa.

The bureaucratic formalities regarding the issuing of a student visa and declaration of stay are the responsibility of the Student and, therefore, under no circumstances, Polimoda shall be deemed liable for failure to issue or late issuing of a visa. Except as otherwise expressly provided for in this enrolment contract, the obligations undertaken by the Student with the signing of the enrolment contract will not be compromised in case of failure to issue or late issuing of a visa by the competent authorities.
