Metamorphosis is one of nature’s most renowned processes, symbolizing the transformation from one form or substance into another, giving rise to new life or shape. This vital cycle is evident in all human and universal processes. Transformation, a fundamental aspect of the creative journey, has long inspired designers, artists, philosophers, and thinkers.
The Polimoda Graduation Show 2024, through the students’ collections and its title 昇華 (SHO-KA) — a Japanese term meaning “change for the better” — embodies a creative evolution. This year’s collections embrace this concept as their foundation, showcasing transformation and metamorphosis to represent the pinnacle of creativity and reflect the academic design experience at Polimoda. This event forecasts the future of fashion, introducing the industry’s new pioneers and unveiling them to the fashion world and its media.
Graduation Show 2024
The Graduation Show celebrates creativity, innovation and craftsmanship. It is an opportunity to see the final collections and garments made and designed by undergraduate students while paying testimony to the unique educational experience and artistic vision that defines Polimoda.
The event, taking place at Villa Palmieri, Florence on June 12th at 6pm, during edition 106 of Pitti Immagine Uomo, brings together students, faculty, industry leaders and media from all around the world. The show not only highlights the exceptional work of the students but also serves as a launchpad for the next generation of fashion innovators and their entry into the fashion industry.

Special collaboration
This year, the event hosts a special collaboration with Silhouette, the world leader in high-end rimless eyewear. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the iconic Titan Minimal Art (TMA), the 4th year Fashion Design students reinterpreted the TMA, in harmony with the visionary aesthetic of the Austrian brand. The almost weightless design of the glasses, just 2 grams, is the starting point for their creative journey. Tasked with paying homage to the iconic model, the students designed an evolution of it, without screws or hinges. The prototypes created, in perfect balance between tradition and innovation, will be revealed on the catwalk together with the collections of Gabriela Marie Blake, Ian Morris McDonald and Luca Polonio.
