Creative Horizons 2026: Students Reimagine Two Pomellato Collections

For the new edition of Creative Horizons with Pomellato, Undergraduate students in Fashion Styling and Fashion Art Direction were invited to reimagine two collections, Nudo and Iconica, through four distinct creative lenses.

A playful, fresh thread runs through all the ideas developed for the two collections. Breaking with convention, students brought their own perspective to reimagine highly conceptual campaigns and retail installations for this iconic brand.

A dive into pure color via structure, graphicism, and confidence, comes through with verve in this campaign for both Nudo and Iconica collections. Self-Abstraction moves away from the figurative altogether, celebrating the contemporary woman’s sense of self through bold color fields, graphic lines, and geometric confidence. Full of artistic and design references, this project not only took the jewels themselves into account but also the repurposing of them as small works of art, through to the groups proposition for a retail presentation as an intimate gallery setting, bridging the divide between customer, product, and consumer of culture itself.

Aletheia, reflecting the Greek meaning of the word as ‘revelation’, strips the image down to color itself. Playing with color as well as transparency, presence, and existence, silk and organza veils, matched to topaz, amethyst, or quartz, fall between camera and model. Here, the concept of “nudo” is exercized, letting the jewel stand as the only solid, sharp form behind, within, and around a quiet vulnerability that emanates a delicate humanity. The simplicity and depth to this concept was reiterated through their retail space proposal, calm yet revealing fabric clothed wall spaces, with suspended frames, a symbiotic dynamic between presence and absence.

Pick a Winning Horse channels the equestrian connection of the name of the brand; ‘pomellato’ describes a dappled horse in Italian, and the name came from the founder’s love of the equestrian world. Horses represent passion, elegance, allure, distinctive traits that inspire all of the house’s jewelry designs. In this campaign, the Pomellato woman is cast as both rider and observer, her strength softened by poise. The group’s retail proposal played on the idea of the winners’ podium, a simple, yet effective, elevation of the jewels and campaign images.

Pomellato was founded, and to this day executes its design and craftmanship, in Milan. The aperitivo being one of the city’s worldly exports, it defines the city’s energy and youthful exuberance, placing it on a worldwide metropolitan stage. The campaign The Aperitivo distills the Italian ritual of conversation, finding tension and intimacy in small gestures, glances, and pauses, with jewelry woven into the everyday choreography of a drink shared. This group’s store presentation played on the convivial happy-hour moment of the silver sharing plate, where jewelry is a starting point for conversation, a shared touch, or a glance.

Across all four projects, the students translated Pomellato’s codes, color, sensuality, and Italian ease, into their own visual language, working from concept to final image with the rigor of a real campaign brief. The result was a professional-level campaign, conceived and developed from the ground up, concluding with a presentation at Pomellato’s Florence boutique and across the brand’s digital channels.
