After 6 months of hard work, consultations, and development, the moment to present their Polimoda Talent winning projects to the world had arrived: Syncroni by Hatem Ben Hassine, and Luigi Simonetti by Luigi Simonetti.
In front of an excited audience made up of the external jury, and industry professionals, students, family and friends, two projects, the result of months of development within the landscape of Polimoda Talent, a business development program offering mentorship, strategic consulting, co-working spaces on campus, and a €10,000 grant, were presented.
Luigi Simonetti’s homonymous brand is an immersion into southern Italian culture. Master in Creative Direction alumnus, he warmly invites us into his world built around an artisanal practise, passed down through generations, a bobbin lace technique, lovingly hand made and developed throughout villages of Simonetti’s native Molise. Perpetuating a slow, authentic pace of life, his brand’s goal is to create a limited collection that combines sportswear inspired silhouettes with meticulously made lace additions: the perfect meeting of innovation and modernity with traditional culture preserving techniques that tell the stories of generations.
Syncroni by Hatem Ben Hassine is a digital runway casting solution designed to facilitate and expedite the casting process in different fashion production contexts. It aims to replace the manual processes of finding, selecting, and managing models. To be used by casting directors, producers, and creative teams, it’s a unique and complete system that centralises all elements of selecting models, fittings, approvals, recruitment and lineup. Master in Sustainable Fashion alumnus, Hatem’s presentation was professional, concise, and convincing, a promising new addition to the casting tool landscape.
