For Made in Italy Day, Polimoda came to the Italian Embassy in Athens to convey the innovation and caliber of Italian fashion through a fashion show by Polimoda graduate, designer Domenico Orefice, and two lectures by the school’s director, Massimiliano Giornetti.
The first day in Athens revolved around the casting, fitting, and creation of the fashion show. The backstage came together through the spirit of collaboration between Orefice and his team, under the guidance of Massimiliano Giornetti, and the valuable support of students from PANSiK Fashion School.
The Italian Embassy teemed with guests, warmly received by Ambassadors Paolo Cuculi and Oriana Mannaioli Cuculi. Following the introduction by Mr. Cuculi and Massimiliano Giornetti, the models descended the embassy’s grand staircase, before continuing throughout the ground floor rooms. Orefice’s collection, marked by its boldness and vitality, simultaneously incorporated elements of femininity and ambiguity.
The following day, Massimiliano Giornetti held two lectures. He was joined at PANSiK by Sara Sozzani Maino, Creative Director of Fondazione Sozzani and International New Talent and Brands Ambassador at Milan Fashion Week. Together they gave a collaborative lecture on their pathways in the fashion industry, answering questions from the students. Their lecture prioritized the importance of knowing how to work with others and getting a good education as well as giving guidance to students navigating uncertain career paths. The school director then took Massimiliano Giornetti and Sara Sozzani Maino on a tour of the institution, with the diplomatic presence of Oriana Mannaioli Cuculi.
