The school’s Board of Directors, chaired by Niccolò Ricci, has appointed entrepreneur Laura Milani as General Director of Polimoda, with management and strategic responsibility for the school’s development, working alongside the board and the faculty. The appointment opens the second phase of Ricci’s mandate, moving from groundwork to implementation of his vision for the school.
Milani brings more than two decades of experience in education, design and contemporary art, having founded and led IAAD, the Institute of Applied Arts and Design, from 2000 to 2020. She has also held institutional roles including the presidency of the National Museum of Cinema and advised Italy’s Ministry of Culture on design policy.
The move comes as Polimoda marks its 40th anniversary and pursues an expanding academic agenda, including the planned research library at the Manifattura Campus, progress on MUR accreditation for its Undergraduate offering, and a new representative office in Austin, Texas.
