Identity and Fashion

Guest lecture with Eugene Rabkin

On the occasion of Pitti Uomo 103, fashion critic Eugene Rabkin has been invited as a special guest lecturer probing questions influencing our senses of identity and how they relate to fashion. A focus of his discussion is on genderless clothing styles, in addition to the trend of cultural appropriation that we observe today.

Along with examining the principles of identity from multiple sources, Eugene Rabkin’s guest lecture promises to dive deep and explore how each factor affects our understanding of fashion in this era.

I fell in love with fashion as a means of self-expression. What do clothes mean? What's the meaning of what you're wearing? It always means something. And I think even if people are trying very hard to not project anything, they still do. And to me has been always the most fascinating thing.
