Course
The Undergraduate in Fashion Accessories Design is an intensive learn & practice program, teaching individuals how to design high-fashion shoes and athletic footwear, bags and metal hardware, and is appropriately held in Florence, the production capital of leather goods for the most important brands in the world.
This program forms a well-defined professional Accessories Designer capable of applying traditional skills of craft together with conceptual and avant-garde research. This person can run a laboratory to create the latest fetish object of desire in fashion.
The first year of Fashion Accessories Design teaches the basic skills required to create a pair of shoes and a bag. From the second year, students are able to go in-depth and focus on all the footwear, bags and accessories technicalities, incorporating small leather and metal goods. In the third year, they develop a personal portfolio and final project that includes an iconic product and its packaging to be presented as an installation.
Students receive a welcome kit with tools and materials, and have access to expert guest lectures, an immense library, the computer labs and production machines. This course is made up of an intense program of reviews, workshops and collaborations with companies organized throughout the three-year program. Classes are held by teachers from the industry.
