Course

Fashion photography is a genre of photography devoted to communicating and translating fashion to targeted audiences through different mediums, such as digital platforms or fashion magazines.

The short course in Fashion Photography wil provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the preparation, technical skills and post-production processes required for successful fashion photography. Additionally, students will explore contemporary fashion photography and the importance of developing a personal signature.

The ultimate goal of this course is to provide students with an in-depth look at the development, execution and post-production of fashion photography, while also learning how to incorporate their own unique style and signature into their work.

This cutting-edge course offers students the unique opportunity to hone their skills by focusing on a fashion shooting in an actual in-house photographic studio. This hands-on experience will give students a real-world understanding of the technical and creative aspects of fashion photography and allow them to apply the concepts and techniques learned in class to a live setting. Additionally, the use of an in-house studio will provide students with access to professional equipment and resources, allowing them to produce high-quality, polished images that showcase their abilities and potential as fashion photographers.

The program also includes visits to some of the most iconic fashion venues in Florence, such as: Gucci Garden, the museum dedicated to the Italian fashion house with classic clothing and handbag exhibits, and the Salvatore Ferragamo Museum, a fashion museum dedicated to the life and work of Italian shoe designer Salvatore Ferragamo and his eponymous company.
