Brunelleschi’s arches at Giardino Scotto in Pisa hosted fashion, spectacle, and third-year Undergraduate in Fashion Design students for an evening under the stars.

POLIMODA FASHION STUDENTS IN PISA

Twelve students showcased their third-year collections, marking a new chapter for an event that features for the second time on Polimoda’s calendar. The student designers: Clara Barros Hipólito (Portugal), Philine Grunert (Germany), Paula Ruiz Lorenzo (Spain), Sofia Luongo (Italy), Shayaan Ahmed Khan (USA), Friederike Kielmansegg (Germany), Maria Delgado Spinola (Spain), Genesis (Zhuoying Guo) (Hungary), Victoria Miras Bueso (Spain), Krisia Lorean Calubaquib (Philippines), Ines Duftner (Austria), and Alya Sander (Israel) brought a full year of technical growth to the runway, presenting collections shaped by their distinct points of view.

THIRD-YEAR SHOWCASE COLLECTIONS

The evening looked forward rather than back: the students’ collections speak of the next generation of designers. Embarking on their fourth and final year of the school’s prolific design program, these students already demonstrate a sensitivity to shape and form as well as a dedication to craft and precision.

Giardino Scotto sits in the middle of one of Italy’s most prolific fashion production districts, and one of the world’s leading centers for leather production and design. For third-year students on the cusp of their final year, showing here means testing their collections within a context that still makes things by hand, at scale, better than almost anywhere else on earth.

As these students head toward their final year, Stelle in Giardino gives students runway experience, in real conditions, in one of the world’s most important districts for fashion production.
