Master in Sustainable Fashion students presented their final thesis projects before an audience of faculty, guests, and companies, before being awarded their diplomas. The projects collectively address one of fashion’s most pressing challenges: shifting the industry from a culture of disposability to one of longevity and value preservation.
The brief, guided by project leader Marco Tortora, called on students, Pauline Bourgoin, Elia Baldini, Abigail Bezuidenhoudt, Verónica Reguero Cadilla, Brenna Di Nizio, Wendy Tseng, Niccolo Quilici, and Rafaela Viana, to identify a real problem in fashion, then build a credible solution around it.
What emerged was a range of original proposals, a sustainability diagnostic tool built for small and mid-sized fashion brands; from a platform that offers small-to-medium fashion brands sustainability diagnostics, to pop-up mending events that transform garment repair, a digital platform that turns clothing into trackable assets through wardrobe management, and an AI-powered app that combats overconsumption by maximizing existing wardrobes through styling and outfit composition tips, each project arrived with a fully worked business plan and a clear-eyed read of the market.
After presenting their research and proposals, students fielded questions from the panel, handling scrutiny with the kind of composure that comes from genuine command of their subject.Â

The afternoon proceeded with interviews between students and some of the fashion industry’s top companies and brands, to explore future career opportunities and further discuss the students’ sustainability ideas.
Polimoda’s Master in Sustainable Fashion operates on the conviction that the industry’s structural problems require people trained to think beyond convention, preparing them as real problem solvers for the future.
Good luck and best wishes for the future to all students!
