What Happened at the Global Fashion Event

From January 10th to 13th, Polimoda and its students were among the protagonists of one of the most influential fashion events.

Polimoda kicked off the new year with Pitti Uomo 101, joining international guests, renowned designers and emerging brands to discover the newest trends and talk about fashion.

Villa Favard, Polimoda’s main headquarters, hosted Inner Jardin Noir, an exhibition born from a unique collaboration between artist Sasha Vinci and Ilaria Bellomo, fashion designer and recent graduate as well as Centro di Firenze per la Moda Italiana’s Gala Dinner under the unforgettable frescoes of our gilded hallways to celebrate the launch of Pitti Uomo with some of the biggest fashion figures in the industry.

The Manifattura Tabacchi campus opened its doors to Claudio Marenzi, Chairman Pitti Immagine, Marco Fortis, Managing Director of Edison Foundation and Lecturer of Industrial Economy and Foreign Trade at the Political Science Faculty of Cattolica University of Milan and Erika Andreetta, Partner PwC Italy, Consumer Markets Consulting Leader.

PwC Italia and the Edison Foundation analyzed the prospects of the post-pandemic Italian economic recovery in a special conversation inside Polimoda’s Aula Magna, focusing on the strengths of Italian manufacturing and export activities and the clothing-fashion sector, an economic pillar and an international “ambassador” for Italy.

January 11-13, appointment only
Polimoda, Villa Favard, Via Curtatone 1

Inner Jardin Noir, an installation by Ilaria Bellomo and Sasha Vinci

Polimoda presents a preview of Ilaria Bellomo, the homonymous brand founded by the Fashion Design alumna. An installation of garments in dialogue with works by Sicilian artist Sasha Vinci. An alternative dimension, a sort of Black Garden immersed in an undefined time and place; a dreamlike dimension that becomes reality through clothes. Just like material creatures, they come to life and tell their own story.

January 11-13
Pitti, Padiglione Medici, Fortezza da Basso

Installation by Domenico Orefice and Fashion Art Direction, Fashion Trend Forecasting and Fashion Styling students

At the official stand of the school, Polimoda Fashion Art Direction, Fashion Trend Forecasting and Fashion Styling students will curate an exhibition that combines digital narration with a menswear capsule collection by Domenico Orefice, Fashion Design graduate. A project that integrates the active attitude of technical clothing inspired by extreme sports with the excellence of haute couture, for a new luxury that starts with innovation.
