Course

Weaving Futures is a design workshop that explores fabric as a symbol of connection and a shared language. Through thread, color, gesture, and materials, participants engage in hands-on exploration, intuitive use of color, patchwork, and collective weaving as tools for storytelling, memory, and transformation.

The experience encourages free creativity, authentic expression, and reconnection with oneself and the group. Participants explore their creative potential through intuitive and sensory activities, perceiving design as a space for expression, connection, and ancestral language. The method includes experimentation with colors, textures, and recycled materials; intuitive collage; freestyle color application; no-sew patchwork; collective weaving on wide-mesh nets; and moments of sharing that foster collaboration and authenticity.

Each child experiments with materials, textures, and symbols to personalize a T-shirt or tote bag, while also contributing to a shared weaving. The workshop alternates between personal creation and co-creation, stimulating intuition, play, and imagination.

The vision of Weaving Futures sees design as a co-creative practice that intertwines art, fashion, and community. It invites reflection on materials as storytellers and gestures as acts that repair bonds between people and the Earth, making design a ritual capable of weaving the stories of the future.

Workshop activities include freestyle patchwork collage, intuitive textile painting, creative recycling using no-sew techniques, and a collective weave on a wide-mesh net, where all contributions form a shared artwork.

Who it's for

This course is aimed at young people willing to express their creativity through the language of fashion.

Outcomes

By the end of the course, students will have created a personalized T-shirt or tote bag and a collective installation that brings together gestures, ideas, and materials from all participants, symbolizing collaboration and reconnection.
