Bridging fashion education and the real-world digital landscape, Polimoda announces a new partnership with Brazilian digital media platform F*hits for the Master in Fashion Marketing and Communications, appointing catalyst, blogger, digital guru and F*hits founder Alice Ferraz as mentor of the course.
The exclusive collaboration was launched on Saturday, March, 23rd in São Paolo, Brazil, during the 17th edition of QG F*hits São Paulo: The Phygital Experience, an event uniting fashion, beauty and lifestyle attended by the most renowned Latin America digital influencers. Polimoda Head of Education Gabriele Moschin joined the event’s initiatives, taking part in a panel discussion with Ferraz unearthing the ins and outs of Polimoda, unveiling its history, guiding philosophy and Master program to an audience of top digital influencers, which included Camila Coelho, Raissa Santana (Miss Brazil 2016), Manuela Rodrigues, Anna Carolina Bassi and more.
Considered one of the top 20 most powerful women in Brazil by Forbes magazine – and ranked in the BoF 500 for her role in shaping Brazil’s luxury market – Ferraz is a true force in the world of modern digital communications. The marketing master launched F*hits in 2010, Brazil’s first network of bloggers that today hosts more than 200 digital influencers and roughly 40 million visitors on its multiplatform every month, making it South America’s largest online audience for a beauty, fashion and lifestyle website. As mentor, Ferraz will guide students towards a deep understanding of today’s digital world, drawing on her expertise to provide invaluable insight for student course projects, consisting of the launch of a magazine and the marketing of a company.
“The true strength of this institute lies in the strong ties fostered with the industry,” explains director Danilo Venturi. “Partnerships of this kind add an unparalleled value for our students, who are given the unique opportunity to learn directly from the protagonists of today’s fashion system. Alice Ferraz has founded a trailblazing media network, becoming one of the main authorities in marketing in the digital era, and will serve as a key figure in guiding our students towards becoming top-level professionals for the future of communications.”
The 9-month program includes master classes, workshops and visits to Pitti Uomo and Milan Fashion Week, with the next edition set to begin in June 2019. Merging the theoretical and practical, the Master asks students to reflect on the conventional or unconventional, the on and offline, ultimately learning how to use images, numbers or words to uniquely convey clear and effective messages to a variety of audiences.
“We are looking forward to be a part of this Master and share our methodology. Communication, advertising and fashion are among the several industries which have been disrupted over the past few years. There is a central space for social media, one that creates a wave of awareness, consideration and consumption, while adding value to the entire consumer journey. So, the question is not about using social media, but, rather, the way social media is used,” concludes Ferraz.
