Lorin al momento sta trasformando in musical il romanzo This Is All I Got di Lauren Sandler e di recente ha diretto lo one-woman show di Candace Bushnell Is There Still Sex in the City? al Daryl Roth Theatre, elogiato dalla critica del New York Times. Lorin Latarro ha conseguito un BFA alla Juilliard School, dove è professore aggregato. Si è diplomata in regia per il cinema e la televisione alla Tisch School of the Arts della New York University. Ha ricevuto nomination ai Drama Desk Awards, Lucille Lortel Awards e Chita Rivera Awards. Lorin si è recata più volte in India e in Africa per lavorare con la Fondazione Bill e Melinda Gates a progetti volti a migliorare le condizioni di salute e la pianificazione familiare di donne e ragazze. È la fondatrice di ArtAmmo.org (Artists Against Gun Violence), di cui hanno parlato New York Times, PBS, Rachel Maddow e la BBC.
