Tailor-made Programs

Polimoda’s tailor-made courses offer private, customized training with industry experts in response to specific needs regarding issues related to the fashion and luxury industries. Mentioned below are examples of programs we have offered with our partner universities.

AAP of the China Education Association for International Exchange of Ministry of Education

Polimoda has an ongoing collaboration with the Arts Abroad Program Office (AAP) of the China Education Association for International Exchange with the Ministry of Education for courses aimed at students from various Chinese universities. We organize three courses per year, two during both the Spring and Fall Semesters and one during the Summer. The programs include subjects such as Communications Management, Creative Process in Draping, Fashion Styling, Fabric Styling, Contemporary Fashion, Graphic Design, Fashion Consumer Behavior, Creative Advertising workshop and Professional English.

Osaka Institute of Fashion

Polimoda has two different collaborations with the Osaka Institute of Fashion (Japan). The Exchange Program provides a yearly exchange between one Polimoda fourth-year Undergraduate in Fashion Design student (or a student who has graduated less than three years ago) and a graduate student from the Osaka Institute of Fashion Creator Course or Super Design Course. Also, each year, two one-week tailor-made courses are organized at Polimoda for the Osaka Institute of Fashion students; Shape & Silhouette takes place in June and Super Design is offered in September.

UEDA College of Fashion

With UEDA College of Fashion (Japan), Polimoda has been organizing two-day tailor-made courses since February 2018, under the mutual intention to further develop the trusted relationship between both institutions. The subjects offered are Fashion Branding, Fashion History, Contemporary Fashion and Craft to Business, and include a visit to the Florence Museum of Costume and Fashion. Starting in February 2020, the new subject Wardrobe Brief & Sociology of Imagery with project presentation has been incorporated into the program.

University of Technology Sydney

Polimoda collaborates with the University of Technology Sydney (Australia) for tailor-made courses aimed at fashion design students. The program includes an Accessories Design workshop and a Patternmaking & Prototyping workshop involving the creation of a leather bag prototype. The other subjects include Fashion History, Contemporary Fashion, Craft to Business as well as visits to fashion companies. 

University of South Carolina

Polimoda collaborates with the University of South Carolina (USA) for tailor-made courses aimed at Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management students. This short course is a component the College of HRSM study abroad course and University of South Carolina is the credit granting institution. The 2-week program includes subjects such as Luxury Management with research project, Sociology of Luxury, Retail Management, Heritage Marketing, Luxury Autos, Private Luxury and Luxury Events. It also includes a visit to a fashion company, the Lamborghini factory and Lamborghini Museum and a viewing of a private collection of vintage luxury cars.

Barreira Arte + Diseño

The tailor-made courses organized by Polimoda for the Barreira Arte + Diseño, Centro Oficial de Estudios Superiores in Valencia (Spain) are aimed at Fashion Now: Master in Fashion Communication and Marketing students. The subjects include Fashion Management, Textile Science, Fashion Future, Craft to Business as well as a visit to a fashion company.
