Sangue Novo is Drawing Tomorrow

Young designers compete for their future

In partnership with Polimoda for the third consecutive year, ModaLisboa’s Sangue Novo – Young Designers Competition has selected 10 designers to compete in the first phase of the Portuguese talent contest.

ModaLisboa is a multidisciplinary project focused on promoting and developing Portuguese Fashion at a national and international level. With the Sangue Novo - Young Designers Competition, designers are given a platform to share their collections in front of a large and international audience.

In typical 2020 style, designers André Jorge, Andreia Reimão, Ari Paiva, Arndes, Benedita Formosinho, Bolota Studio, Feliciano, Fora de Jogo, Pilar do Rio and Rafael Ferreira —selected from a pool of 99 applicants— will digitally present their runaway collections on all ModaLisboa platforms, sharing their pieces online through video as well as live backstage content.

President of the jury Miguel Flor will be virtually joined by Rosário de Mello e Castro (editor-in-chief of Máxima), Ricardo Dourado (senior designer at Zara Woman), Adriano Batista (editor-in-chief of Fucking Young! magazine) and Danilo Venturi (Polimoda Director) in a judging panel that will carefully select five designers to reach the final phase of the competition.

Each finalist will receive a monetary award of 1000 euros and present a new collection in March 2021, the same date the jury will elect the winners of Sangue Novo. One of the participants of the competition will receive a Polimoda Master in Collection Design or Fashion Design.

Good luck, designers!
