Mr Canevacci is a widely published author, awarded anthropologist and contemporary culture enthusiast. His lecture will therefore reflect his extensive work on the ethnographic imagination between what he calls bodyscape, the communicational metropolis, digital cultures and ‘the digital challenge of ubiquitous subjects’.
Ubiquity is the central concept of everyday experiences, based on digital revolution, transforming the traditional compact identity in an ubiquitous subject.
This will be an incredible opportunity for Polimoda students and professors alike to learn about Mr Canevacci’s unique perspective on visual communication and urban anthropology, and of course the implication of these fields on fashion and dress. Formerly Visiting Professor at the University of Communication in Nanjing (China), Tokyo (Japan), at the University of Florianopolis (UFSC), Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), São Paulo (ECA, IEA, IED), Massimo Canevacci is also currently Visiting Professor at the University of São Paulo (UNIFESP).
