On Tuesday, October 22nd, Ines Amorim and Reid Baker, co-founders of Ernest W. Baker, will be taking part in an exclusive Polimoda Rendez-Vous, chatting on stage with Portuguese journalist Irina Chitas about the Lisbon fashion industry and the story behind their heritage-based brand.
It was 2016 when Portuguese designer Ines Amorim and Utah-raised Reid Baker united their undeniably different upbringing to whisk together raw American spirit and European grace into something new. Through the blending of cultures, Ernest W. Baker was born.
Ernest W. Baker isn’t an imagined appellation; it happens to be the name of Reid’s grandfather and the main inspiration behind the brand’s identity, marrying the nostalgia of the past with timeless pieces dedicated to the present.
Before establishing their brand three years ago, the incomparable Portugal-meets-America shared experience working for fashion houses Haider Ackermann, Yang Li and Wooyoungmi. In 2018, their label was shortlisted for the 2018 edition LVMH prize.
With a fresh take on the industry, the international co-founders are ready to share their thoughts with journalist Irina Chitas and the #PolimodaPeople crew. On the occasion of their Polimoda Rendez-Vous, Ines Amorim & Reid Baker will talk about the Lisbon fashion scene and their journey of becoming.
