Pinocchio's award-winning Massimo Cantini Parrini takes home David di Donatello

The Florentine designer's fourth win in five years

Alumnus Massimo Cantini Parrini wins a David di Donatello award at the glamorous Italian Oscars for costume design in Matteo Garrone's 2019 film "Pinocchio."

It's a proud day for #PolimodaPeople. Florentine costume designer and alumnus Massimo Cantini Parrini just won his fourth David di Donatello award for his jaw-dropping work in Matteo Garrone's live-action adaption of the heartwarming classic "Pinocchio" featuring talented Italian actor and comedian Roberto Benigni.

Cantini Parrini visually enchants audiences throughout the movie with over 30 magical fairtytale costume designs. His inspiration came from various sources, including historical clothing from the 18th and 19th century.

If you happen to live in Tuscany and want to see his work up close, Prato's Textile Museum's exhibition featuring Massimo's work for the film will reopen on May 19th.

Congratulations, Massimo!
