In partnership with Polimoda, ModaLisboa’s aspiration for the new Sangue Novo – Young Designers Competition is innovative irreverence, with the objective of scoping out fresh young talent unafraid of inspecting new creative visions about fashion.
ModaLisboa is a multidisciplinary project focused on promoting and developing Portuguese Fashion at a national and international level. Seeing as their main focus has always been new talent, Sangue Novo is a one-off opportunity for young designers to share their creative juices.
The competition (open to finalists of higher education degrees and professional courses in Fashion Design from Portuguese or international schools, and young designers who have already finished their training and are currently starting their own brands) offers 10 finalists the opportunity to unveil their work at the first Sangue Novo show in October 2019.
Once complete, the jury including Miguel Flor, Felipe Oliveira Baptista, Lidija Kolovrat and Polimoda’s Director Danilo Venturi will select 6 finalist designers to present a new collection at the second Sangue Novo show in March 2020, each finalist being awarded with a monetary prize of 1000 euro to develop their new collection.
In March 2020, all 6 finalist designers will be considered for the ModaLisboa Award in partnership with Polimoda – the opportunity to attend either a Polimoda Master in Fashion Design or a Polimoda Master in Collection Design worth €28.000, as well as a €3.500 euro living expenses grant.
Applications for this next edition of the competition run until July 5th, 2019 – an opportunity for young design talent certainly not to be missed.
