In collaboration with the LVMH Institut des Métiers d’Excellence (IME), Polimoda announces the all-new LEATHER+ training program, offering 14 scholarships to budding talents, with the support of Fondazione CR Firenze. The fully funded journey aims to pass down the art of artisanal production, accompanying the sector towards innovation and encouraging the training of professionals specialized in luxury products.

Craftsmanship and technology are two vital components of the fashion product, which are essential to Made in Italy, indispensable to the world of luxury. Excellence is determined by that perfect mix of technical skill and artistic sensibility, in which the human element has an irreplaceable value. Through education, we have the pleasure and responsibility of passing on this knowledge and know-how: Polimoda has chosen to invest in cultivating new experts and accompanying them towards a future of innovation, supported by industry leaders such as LVMH.

Danilo Venturi
Director, Polimoda

As a result of the exclusive partnership between Polimoda and LVMH since 2017, participants will receive a two-track preparation, benefiting from the institute’s 30 years of experience training future fashion and design professionals, coupled with hands-on craftsmanship training from prestigious LVMH Maisons. This one-of-a-kind program paves the way for a career as a professional leather craftsman; the marvelous art of artisanal production will be passed down through theory and hands-on artisan training.

World leader of luxury LVMH is actively committed to emerging talents. Launched in 2014, the IME professional training program ensures the transmission of the unique savoir-faire of LVMH Maisons to new generations through training courses at partner schools and collaborations with the Group’s Maisons, including Bulgari, Celine, Christian Dior Couture, Fendi, Loro Piana, Louis Vuitton, Veuve Clicquot and Zenith.

The course will be taught completely in Italian and applications must be submitted by May 29th, 2019.
