This course offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity to transform passion into knowledge, turning curious footwear aficionados into Expert Sneakerheads able to examine the ins and outs of the contemporary athletic shoe. From design to style, from culture to identity, the course will explore the impact and phenomenon of sneakers on a global level.
The curriculum includes: the history of the snackers from the early age to the golden age, the contemporary panorama, fashion buying, trend forecasting, and contemporary fashion. The course also touches on elements of sociology, economics, photography and fashion communications, all through the lens of sneaker culture.
The course also includes: a visit to the Gucci Garden or Ferragamo Museum; an international guest lecture by a fashion industry expert; a personal project; and an individual interview with a senior teacher from the course to assess your potential and further opportunities to continue in this field of study.
Participation in this course is an excellent initial stage of preparation in the fashion business, a course of study that may continue with the 4-year undergraduate program in Business of Fashion or Fashion Marketing & Communications or with the 9-month master’s programs in Luxury Business or Fashion Retail Management.
