Fashion & Art Curation is a unique opportunity to familiarise yourself with the ways that fashion, clothing and fashion shows can interact with spaces, become exhibitions and artistic expression. The curator is an all-round professional holding great responsibility over content, layout, organisation and the promotion of an event. The choice of location, architecture, lighting and communications of an event are the essential elements for the life of a fashion brand today, for product launches, the ability of a department store to attract clients, and for the degree of success of a show.
The curriculum includes: fashion & the city; the study of interactions between users and products; fashion events; analysis of locations and spaces for the organisation of events; fashion aesthetics; the sociology of the imaginary; art & fashion; fashion budget management; public relations and press offices; and fashion advertising focusing on the promotion and launch of events.
The course also includes: a visit to the Gucci or Ferragamo museums; an international guest lecture by a fashion industry expert; a personal project; and an individual interview with a senior teacher from the course to assess your potential and further opportunities to continue in this field of study.
Participation in this course is an excellent initial stage of preparation in the fashion business, a course of study that may continue with the 4-year undergraduate programs in Fashion Marketing & Communications or Fashion Art Direction or with the 9-month master’s programs in Fashion Trend Forecasting or Fashion Marketing & Communications.
