Over the weekend of Altaroma, Italy’s answer to Haute Couture Fashion Week, Niccolò Giannini has won the prestigious Who is on Next? competition with his brand Nico Giani.

Selected by an incredible judging panel including the likes of Godfrey Deeny, Suzy Menkes, Simonetta Gianfelici, Emanuele Farneti, Sara Sozzani Maino, Pierpaolo Piccioli, and Silvia Venturini Fendi, the Nico Giani brand was selected as the winner of the accessories category for Who is on Next? in Rome, for Niccolò’s across-the board research encompassing art and interior design through a rigorous and functional project.

After studying at Polimoda and then eventually teaching at the Institute, Niccolò launched his Florence-based brand of leather bags just last year. In a very short period of time, Nico Giani gained an incredible list of stockists around the world, including Excelsior in Italy, Joseph and Harvey Nichols in England, Isetan and Tomorrowland in Japan, and Bloomingdales in America.

Nico Giani not only won the accessories prize, but also two other special awards over the weekend.
