Fashion Design Fashion Business

The two 13 week semester programs offer a unique experience abroad. You’ll be based in the awe inspiring 19th century Villa Favard, in the heart of Florence by the Arno River, or the hyper modern Polimoda Design Labs in Scandicci. You’ll learn the latest trends and techniques from our team of experienced teachers, who are also cutting edge practitioners in the creative industries, using our own relevant and original materials.

Fashion Design

Fashion Design is the personal expression of a creator who can conceive an idea and transform it into a wearable cult piece, desired by many who are looking for change.

This program perfectly integrates the two words contained in its title, Fashion and Design, into its teaching. Part of the course is research based, encouraging full immersion in order to acquire cultural and technical skills, while another part is practical and aims to equip the student with the skills to create and present an impressive capsule collection.

The high quality of the final project will allow students to use it as a personal portfolio, which will show the development phase of research transformed into figurines, and secondly the transition to a capsule collection. The course is run by teachers from the industry using relevant and original material. Students will be invited to monthly guest lectures given by experts and visionaries from the industry and will be able to make full use of Polimoda’s library – one of the most important fashion libraries in the world. The course is enriched by field trips to fashion companies, and visits to the city’s museums such as the Ferragamo and Gucci museums.

Fashion Business
