Mr Tom Handley is Polimoda’s newest guest professor, whose experience in academia and the industry has inspired and challenged students. With over 20 years developing and mentoring the next generation of fashion talent, specialising in marketing and public relations, Mr Handley is currently a professor at Parsons School of Design, ISEM Business Fashion School in Madrid, and teaches in the esteemed Fashion Communication and Promotion program as part of the Dual City program with Central Saint Martins.

With the master’s students in Fashion Brand Management and Fashion Marketing and Communications, as well as undergraduate students from Business of Fashion and Fashion Art Direction, Mr Handley went through a range case studies, digital media and business development in a series of workshops throughout last week.

Tom’s credentials make him especially fitting for these workshops, as he not only currently consults with 4 New York based Public Relations and so brings up to date information directly from the American industry, but also formerly held executive positions at Polo/Ralph Lauren, Badgley Mischka, Heidi Weisel and Adrienne Landau, where he was Executive Vice President, and currently sits on the advisory boards for key fashion houses. Furthermore, considering Tom is thrice nominated and twice named runner-up for the Distinguished Faculty of the Year at Parsons, and believes in “empowering the people that work with and for you”, Polimoda’s students will undoubtedly grew throughout the week during their time with Mr Handley.
