On February 26th at 3pm, the Polimoda Rendez-Vous series will host a guest lecture by Laudomia Pucci di Barsento, Deputy Chairperson and Image Manager at Emilio Pucci.
Growing up among futuristic tailors, kaleidoscopic designers and styling experts, fashion became her first language. With a degree in Political Science under her belt, the sole heiress to the iconic fashion home knows what it takes to maintain the integrity and image of a brand alive, especially in times of intense socio-cultural transition.
Laudomia Pucci began working with her father in 1985, taking over the family business in 1992 after his death. Over the course of her 10-year management, she has re-elaborated the maison’s flamboyant patterns and cult silhouettes, managing to successfully reposition the brand. In fact, in 2000 she sold a majority stake to luxury group LVMH, which helped consolidate the brand’s acclaimed glamorous aesthetic by introducing cutting-edge head designers the likes of Christian Lacroix, Matthew Williamson, Peter Dundas and Massimo Giorgetti.
Over the years, the Emilio Pucci label has managed to preserve its long-standing brand values of Italian excellence and Mediterranean culture. During her lecture, Mrs. Pucci will deliver precious insight on the philosophy and actions behind this ongoing identity-driven process.
