Definition:  Trademark for closing consisting of a tape woven with minute nylon hooks that mesh with loops on opposite tape. Used on children’s and adult’s clothing, sportswear, and shoes. First used by astronauts.

Context:  To eliminate stitches visible on the outside of the garment, use a hand-whipped stitch to attach the Velcro.
