Clothing for the upper part of the body worn either as an outer garment or under a coat or jacket. Usually hand- or machine-made by knitting or crocheting in cable, ribbed, or lacy patterns. Sweaters are frequently called by yarns used: (a) wool - Shetland or lambswool; (b) hair fibres - mohair or angora; and (c) man-made yarn - Orlon acrylic, or Antron nylon. Also called by specialized types of yarns, e.g., bouclé, chenille, or high bulk (called bulky).

Context:
We knit the finest Peruvian pima cotton yarn in a classic cable stitch to create our luxuriously soft sweater. Cut for a classic fit through the torso, it is traditionally finished with ribbing at the neck, cuff and waist. Cotton. Machine washable.
