Waist-length sport jacket with a fitted waistband which was adapted from British RAF flying jackets in the late 1940s and early 1950s. Made from wool, gabardine or nylon, the windbreaker is usually waterproof and zips or buttons from waist to neck. It is worn for sporting activities and as casual attire.
