The aim of the course is to train designers for the all-round creation of a fashion brand from creating the concept, message, graphics and image through to designing sales outlets or organising events. The disciplines will range from corporate image to the product, packaging, advertising and multimedia, providing extensive all-round design knowledge.

Goals
The course intends to train designers capable of creating everything needed to diffuse and promote the fashion product and to create a coherent style. The end of the 1990s marked a watershed for the fashion world, bringing in great changes on a national and international level which have led to the creation of new scenarios and growing complexity in the sector and its companies. This has made a global creative approach necessary which companies managed to get by without in the past. Interaction between the different fields of creation is the heart and soul, the true essence of fashion. Against this background, the Fashion Brand Designer is a figure of growing importance. The predominant role of visual communication in the sector, clients' increasingly widespread use of technology means that all-round creative minds are needed.

 
Program  
 

Fashion Brand Design is an extensive discipline that ranges from corporate image to the product, packaging, advertising and multimedia, following a global approach to provide extensive all-round design knowledge. The course method is dynamic and effective, including theoretical lessons, practical exercises (group and individual work), lessons on theory and criticism, and meetings with experts from the various artistic and professional fields. The course consists of simulating an all-round communication project and is divided into three phases: ANALYSIS- the brand concept, brand evolution, analysis of the brand meaning, value, function and how it comes across. STRATEGY- defining the management strategy to build and/or boost the brand, expanding brand value and defining how. PROJECT- developing brand image projects (product extension, graphics, packaging, advertising campaign). The following areas will be looked at in detail: The brand and its development - communication psychology - the language of fashion between words and images - from Fashion retailers to global enterprises in the fashion system - communication through space design - the international fashion panorama and study of world cultures - photography - advertising - packaging.

Admission  
 
There is direct admission to the course for graduates in architecture, communication sciences or equivalent - students from academies for fine arts or design and graphics schools - candidates with a large amount of work experience. Knowledge of the main software packages is required: Photoshop, FreeHand/Illustrator.
