In the summer, Polimoda offers a full-immersion course in Chinese for Fashion.
As well as providing a basic knowledge of the language, the course accompanies the participants in getting to understand the culture and customs of the Chinese people and the characteristics of the market: its limits and its opportunities.
We don’t just learn foreign languages to break down the mainly linguistic barriers, but to get much closer to the country/ies where the language is spoken. It’s one thing to literally understand what I’m reading or what someone is saying to me, but something quite different to really understand the other person deep down: what they mean, what they want, what they’re trying to get at. In today’s world we can no longer allow ourselves not to understand Chinese and the Chinese, China is no longer a distant country.
The course is divided into two steps:
- Step I: basic knowledge of the language. Studying the vocabulary needed to make a good impression of yourself and your business in a meeting. “Survival” vocabulary.
- Step II: studying the culture and customs of the Chinese people, international marketing basics for understanding emerging markets, and business restrictions and opportunities. Business from the Chinese point of view.
The course is naturally held by mother tongue teachers and experts in the BUSINESS sector. |
