MASTER ART & FASHION - "Become a fashion Curator!"
Content

Fashion entered the museum world. More and more Museums opened their doors to the fashion world. Fashion garments are archived in the same way as art pieces. Fashion exhibitions are not only exposing garments in an historical parcours but in a special created environment in a contemporary context in relation with art or/and socio-cultural studies. ‘Fashion curating’ is a new profession. The course will analyse the 3 different steps of a fashion curator; the first step is the study of the subject and the content, the second step is the space design and the third step is the educational aspect of the exhibition and the translation or educational aspect to the public. We will comment on Fashion Museums such as Victoria & Albert museum in London, The Costume Institute of Metropolitan Museum New York, MoMu of Antwerp, FIT of New York, Museé des Art Décoratifs in Paris and others.

The didactic lessons are held by qualified teachers, who are also professionals with long experience in the world of fashion. Students will be required to make a case study at the end of the 12 weeks.
