FASHION SHOW
The arrival of Linda Loppa, the new
dean, has already led to a new feature for this year, and there will
be many more in the years to come: each student unleashed their creativity
and made real and proper "mini
collections" for the catwalk
comprising from 3 to 8 garments. In addition, there were also experimental
projects from the first-year students
and the ISIA - Fashion Design course. More than 500 garments went
to make up the catwalk show which lasted around two and a half hours.
Once again, taking place alongside the Fashion Show was the Marketing
Exhibition, with two displays organised by the students
on the Fashion
Marketing course, and the D@C multimedia showcase created by the
pupils on the Footwear
and Accessories Design course. |
MARKETING EXHIBITHION
The marketing section put on the Time-shirt
exhibition, based on a project to extend the Swatch range
to the clothing sector. On show were a series of T-shirts with eye-catching
two-tone graphics on the topic of time, with the same colourful, witty
and comfort-lending features that make Swatch products objects for
any occasion. The display was dotted with looped video clips with
images always conditioned by time. The students who came up with the
project played the leading role in the video, acting out a series
of actions that relate to time.
The second exhibition - Old
Icons - took its cue from the Restyling Lambretta marketing
project which came into being after a new niche market was spotted
for relaunching the trademark and product with a restyled modern look.
Thanks to its crafty extended product range, the Lambretta brand offers
its clients not only a means of transport but also an exclusive collection
of accessories with a distinctive retro touch. The Leopolda exhibition
area became a symbolic metropolitan setting providing the backdrop
for ten prototype accessories.
D@c,
the short name for the Design Alliance Community: : a virtual
event on occasion of the Footwear and Accessories Design final-year
students' on-line exhibition. The Polimoda New Talent portal - www.polimodanewtalent.com,
gave the first ever preview of the young footwear and accessories
designers' ideas and trademark styles. A space where real, virtual
and imaginary meet.
