Starting in October 2012 a new Master dedicated to Fashion Writers who would like to become Opinion Leaders
Fashion magazines have been in existence for over 150 years, and they haven’t been suppressed by blogs, like previously radio stars haven’t been killed by video. Today all media is convergent and interconnected therefore what makes the difference is the content, involving more and more the user-generated narrowcasting rather than corporate broadcasting.
A Fashion Writer is much more than just a journalist or a copy writer. The figures of reference are Suzy Menkes and Cathy Horyn, Caroline Evans and Colin McDowell, but also Imran Amed and Scott Schuman, women and men who, starting from a book, a magazine or a blog, can observe the whole fashion system, to breakdown a single collection, interview a designer or a manager, get involved with or distance themselves from them, always with a competent, fearless, singular, effective, sharp cut, to become an opinion leader with the capacity to feed doubt, but also to paint scenarios and launch perspectives that can be shared.
The new Master in Fashion Writing aims to create specific writers for the fashion field, its media system (magazines, newspapers, blogs and digital issues), its business (brand communication, storytelling and pr), and its cultural and educational aspects (researches, papers and books).
