The aim of this short, but intensive course, is to introduce the participants to the exciting world of clothes designers.

Exciting but very hard work, stylists have a complex role. They need a good dose of natural talent, but also lots of commitment and training. This is why, to really prepare yourself for this role it takes years of study and research. This short summer course is just a small taste of the three-year Fashion Design course, which we invite you to look at.

Stylists are fashion designers who can combine creativity, aesthetic taste, information on market and fashion trends, economic parameters and technical skills to develop projects and perfect fashion products. They plan and create the collections by developing a style theme, drawing  sketches or developing models, using a selection of colours and materials.

They are creative, curious, and have a strong sense of imagination that they use not just to create and design, but also to develop their ideas alongside pattern makers and the technical staff who make their creations reality.
They have to develop wide-ranging knowledge of all the fashion sectors and in-depth knowledge of the specific sector: technology and production, plus sales and marketing.

INFORMATION|ABOUT|COURSE

I should choose the summer Fashion Design course:

    • if I am interested in the figure of clothes stylist and I need more information to finally make up my mind (if it really is the thing for me, if Polimoda can give me what I'm looking for, if I'm ready to invest my energy in this venture). To this end, we advise you to reflect on the possibility of also attending the afternoon career guidance course on Job Profiles, a journey through the roles and tasks of the various figures working in the fashion system. It will help you get a better picture of who does what inside (or outside) a fashion company.

    • if I have already decided to enrol on a three-year Polimoda course in fashion design and I want to prepare myself for the entrance exam (for participants of the summer course there are special exams based on the work done during the course).
