While Fashion is often seen as irrelevant and frivolous, it is in effect one of the great drivers of taste. Its influence transcends individual preferences and moulds our concept of beauty.
Fashion is linked to modernity. It seems to bow to the human need to keep with the pace, to know how to capture and interpret new ideas, and experiment new things. It is also a mechanism for regulating cultural changes, in part organised and rationally used, but mainly uncontrolled and at least in appearance irrational. Industry and trade attempt to turn the cycle of fashion to their advantage, coordinating the aesthetic ageing of products and programming of production. For this reason the decisive aspect of fashions from an economic point of view is their predictability: understanding in advance if and when a certain trend will start and above all when it will slow down.
This is when the trend mechanism takes on the significance of cultural behaviour marketing: an attempt to control fluctuations in taste by working in advance and regulation, using the ever-changing weather of the seasons as a pretext. Research into fashion trends goes way beyond understanding what colour will be popular next season, it moves much deeper into the study of changes in culture, society and consumption. This is why the study of fashion trends involves not only the trend researcher and the stylist , but also marketing, buyers and communication.

The main objective of the SPECIALISED SUMMER COURSES is to enrich the student’s basic knowledge by taking a detailed look at a specific subject.
I should choose the summer Creative Writing for Fashion course:
* - if I am a journalist, copywriter, researcher, writer, consultant, retailer, press operator, manager or politician and want to improve the way I write about and for Fashion
* - to satisfy my curiosity and see if this sector is suited to me and if I should therefore continue to study in this direction To this end, we advise you to reflect on the possibility of also attending the afternoon career guidance course on Job Profiles, a journey through the roles and tasks of the various figures working in the fashion system. It will help you get a better picture of who does what inside (or outside) a fashion company.
