The 10-week course addresses the basic techniques used in the manufacture of footwear and leather goods, an essential background for those who have training or professional experience in Fashion Design and want to approach Footwear and Leather Design.
Designed for those who need to expand their knowledge of techniques preparatory to admission to the three-year course in Footwear and Accessories Design or the Master's courses in Fashion Footwear Design or in Bags and Accessories Design.
An overview of the basic techniques and know-how fundamental to the design of footwear and leather goods, addressing crucial subjects such as Design, CAD, Pattern Making, Prototyping, Assemblage Techniques and Leather Technology and Design.
The course of study will be completed by field trips and visits to trade fairs.

The course is open to school-leavers, graduates, undergraduates and professionals with experience in the world of Fashion and Design who intend to master the basic techniques so that they can go on to specialise in the Footwear and Accessories sector.
