At the end of the masters, the most deserving students will be selected and offered a period of “work experience” in a company selected by Polimoda to complete their training. Polimoda will offer services of career counselling through partner firms or head hunting companies.

Technology does not connect with the senses and emotions that evoke Fashion. It makes the challenge only bigger to engineer the intangible and create Fashion, using tradition, craft, innovation and new Technology. Efficiency is crucial in a glocal complex and competitive market, and it requires well trained profiles that can manage a complex creative process from head to tail.

The Master Fashion Technology course has been designed to train professionals that are able to manage the production of manufacturers or designer’s products to the right quality and quantity, that can deal globally with international production teams, service purchasers, suppliers, and clients.

Gaining extensive experience and knowledge of the operations, aspiring profiles can be promoted from Product Development Manager up to an executive leadership position.

MASTER|COURSE|DESCRIPTION

You will learn to contextualize the language and terminology of Fashion, specialize in the innovation of Textiles and Fibres, and to understand the language of Colors, dyeing, printing and finishing processes. Studying overseas fashion cultures like e.g. Japan, Russia, India and Brazil are essential to understand globalisation and the importance of Design Identity.

The different techniques that are applied in the professional production process will be trained. Tradition and innovation; from cutting structured and unstructured garments for mens and womenswear to computer aided design, AutoCAD, Excel, Illustrator,.. Different design products from garments to accessories will be analized  and optimized on Quality, Fit, Fabrication, and Innovation .

Hands-on Professionals will explain essential issues of Production Managment like Line Planning, Global Product Chain Design, Production Standards, Ethics, Budget Control.

Your creative, strategic and managerial skills will be trained during workshops and group sessions analizing and applying International Product Development Scenarios.

During the 30 weeks course a number of company visits, city and field trips will be organized. At Villa Favard Seminars with important International Professionals, Managers, Researchers and other Fashion protagonists will be scheduled.

INFORMATION|ABOUT|COURSE

ELIGIBILITY

The Master Course is open to graduates (or equivalent), degree students and professionals with at least 2/3 years experience in the sector. Preference will be given to Fashion, Footwear,Textile,Pattern Design, and Industrial Design graduates particularly those with strong technical skills and production knowledge.

HOW TO APPLY

Candidates will be selected according to:
• presentation of portfolio and curriculum vitae;
• motivation letter;
• interview with the Head of the Design Department.
