Notes

The Fashion Stylist is an independent expert in style and image making. The stylist creates the final image to represent a brand by inventing brand icons, images and looks for all players in the fashion world: designers, magazines, retailers, advertising agencies and celebrities. S/he works for photoshoots, look books, shows or magazines.
Fashion Stylists create future trends. They understand how to position a brand and act as liaison between photographers and editors; professionals in this field require not only specific competencies but also a highly developed aesthetic vision and talent, indispensable to understanding and absorbing the most innovative concepts.
Students will follow in the footsteps of famous stylists such as Carine Roitfeld, Joe McKenna, Olivier Rizzo and many others who worked for photographers such as Mario Testino, Mario Sorrenti, Inez Van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin, Steven Meisel or Tim Walker.

POLIMODA|MASTERS|DESCRIPTION

History will teach us how important styling and image building are. Many historic figures used their way of dressing, styling and accessories to express their power, beauty, wealth or intelligence. This use of image can be applied to contemporary styling for the advertising campaigns of famous fashion houses.  The principles of marketing and communication, trend research and the new media are all fundamental factors in achieving a personal style which will emphasize brand values.
Styling can be extended to interior design, video, TV and theatre. The style of hair and make-up presented by fashion models are fundamental tools contributing greatly to fashion image building. The course therefore provides practical experience in the field, such as the organization of the Polimoda fashion show and events.
Students will develop critical and functional skills aimed at organizing, producing and promoting fashion images in collaboration with photographers, models, hair and make up artists, location hunters, art directors and designers.
