A Fashion Photographer is an expert in style and image who plays an important role in the success of a collection, a professional capable of enhancing the particular style of a brand, from the runway show to the advertising campaign.
This profession requires not only specific competencies but also a highly developed aesthetic vision and talent, indispensable to understanding and absorbing the most innovative concepts.
The Fashion Photographer works for fashion shows, advertising campaigns, fashion publishing and events. He produces look books, portfolios, institutional and product images; he is also a research consultant providing his expertise in fashion photography trends. He works free lance or in companies that make use of his professional skills to anticipate future fashion trends.
He is an expert in still life and shooting techniques for fashion shows, and collaborates with fashion designers and top managers in order to promote concepts and brand image.

Fashion photography is certainly one of the most intriguing branches of the photography and communication field, requiring technical competences, commercial skills and most of all, creativity.
The course is divided in two parts:
- Basic Training, aimed at providing a wide knowledge of the fashion system, communication and the world of photography, with a particular emphasis on fashion photography and the main instruments of marketing and commercial analysis, in order to develop creative capacities and sensitivity.
- Technical Training, aimed at providing a solid photography background, with specific emphasis on fashion photography, following the latest international trends. The goal is to develop a personal language by projecting and putting in practice ideas that will become future trends.

History of Fashion Photography: History of contemporary fashion, Fashion Trends, historic aspects and the evolution of fashion photography.
Marketing strategies & advertising campaigns: Media, National & International fashion magazines, Fashion stylist – Models – Make up – Hairstylist.
Different aspects of fashion photography: Commercial, glamour, fashion, beauty, National & International agencies, Fashion shows, Portraits, Documentaries, Photo-shoot studio, Look book / Portfolio, Nature, Beauty, Showroom, Still life.
Production and post production: Fashion photography: the photo set, participants, instruments, techniques, styles and methods, Practical sessions of studio / on location / runway / photo shoots with models, Project study: creating a story board, Shooting techniques: developing shooting techniques, methodology, lighting techniques, the dark room: the world of classic photography production
Digital systems: photography and computers – Apple systems and I-Work , Aperture & Photoshop applications – Creative Postproduction, editing, organization and presentation of digital portfolios.
Critiques and stylistic development: elements of photographic projects, creating a style for a personal portfolio.

ELIGIBILITY
The master program is open to individuals with a university degree or attending university courses, and professionals with 2/3 years experience in the fields of photography, fashion, design or communication.
Both an analogical (35mm film) and a digital camera are required for attending the course.
HOW TO APPLY
Send your CV and a written motivation by e-mail. A phone interview with the course director will be arranged. Candidates will be selected by a practical on-line test and an interview with the Course Director.
