Accessory Designers enhance silhouettes, adding their signature creative style to a contemporary collection. Shoes and Bags enhance and emphasise a look and help to create the right mood; they often indicate cultural and social status and must be practical, resilient and durable.
The Master programme teaches students how to interpret, design and produce collections, based on the long-standing, sophisticated Italian traditions of craftsmanship and superb tailoring.
Students learn how to maintain artistic integrity in their work, while respecting the individual styles of other persons involved in the creative process. They must be able to effectively present their style in the world of fashion and collaborate with different brands and designers.
The Master is designed to foster the student's personal and cultural growth, right through to the creation and professional presentation of an innovative accessories collection that reflects both the spirit of the moment and the experience of the true professional.
The Master programme takes students through the various stages involved in the development of a collection and a personal presentation.
In the first part of the course, the cultural background of students is strengthened through study and research into cultural aspects of contemporary fashion and art.
This is followed by teaching the technical and creative skills such as graphic design, pattern making, prototyping and artisan skills. Students learn the standards of craftsmanship, creative design and the development of prototypes and models that can ultimately be used in production.
Subsequently each student will be taken through the stages of creating and producing a contemporary collection.
Lastly, the designers will learn to enhance the image of a collection through a professional presentation, exploiting an interdisciplinary approach which may include an event, the creation of a portfolio, a look book and internet and video presentations.

ELIGIBILITY
The Master Course is open to graduates (or equivalent), undergraduates and professionals with at least 2/3 years experience in the sector. Preference will be given to graduates in Fashion or Footwear Design, Art and Industrial Design. For internships in Italian companies, knowledge of Italian is desirable.
HOW TO APPLY
Candidates will be selected on the basis of:
• submission of portfolio and curriculum vitae;
• motivation letter;
• interview with the Head of the Design Department.
