The pattern designer is one of the professionals most in demand in the world of fashion. The experience and technical skills required in this profession achieve high degrees of specialization both according to sector (mens/womenswear) and to the market, at an international level.
This key figure is fundamental in the fashion industry as the crucial interpreter of a designer’s concept, capable of translating it into an actual three-dimensional garment.
The pattern maker makes a prototype based on the designer’s creative concept, preserving its originality and ensuring its wearability. The technical skills of the pattern maker continue to evolve with experience and she/he learns to experiment, introducing creative solutions which often introduce ‘added value’ to the original idea of the designer.

The 3-year pattern design’s course helps students to develop their creativity and learns the techniques of pattern design, of draping, sewing and producing mens and womenswear collections.
By studying and analysing designs, sketches, technical drawings of historical and contemporary designers and learning to interprete and re alize garments in professionally equipped laboratories, students will be ready to enter the workplace with specialized and innovative tailoring crafs.
Students will learn to make use of different skills: carry out research using various sources of information, establish their own pace of work while respecting deadlines, create and produce prototypes for a collection, and develop a presentation of their own work in both English and Italian.
After a final internship, students will be ready to embark on a brilliant professional career.
