With a completely renewed format, Polimoda’s Open Day takes place again from 25 to 27 March.
The three-day programme offers meetings, open lessons, workshops and installations and will present Polimoda’s activities in the form of an ongoing dialogue involving students, education and business.
This year too the Open Day will take place in Villa Strozzi and the Design Lab in Florence as well as the Acciaiolo castle in Scandicci, so that young people, families, schools and businesses can discover the excellence of Polimoda’s courses, but also understand and discuss the professional requirements of the sector and the job opportunities available to those interested in the world of fashion.

“Is Fashion the Trend of the Future? Tomorrow’s challenges for fashion and advertising”. This is the theme of the seminar organized by Polimoda in conjunction with TP Toscana (Association of Professional Publicists). Guest speakers are two of the foremost experts in the field of advertising: sociologist Enrico Finzi, president of TP until 2008, and Lorenzo Marini, an architect and one of the most successful copywriters of the moment.

For the seventh time a Polimoda student has won the Leonardo Prize awarded by the Centro di Firenze della Moda Italiana (Florence Centre for Italian Fashion). The prize-winning thesis is “Made in Estethica – Italian fashion and the strategies of “where” and “how” by Andrea Marinsalta, recent graduate of the Strategic Operational Marketing course. Presented every year in the chambers of the Quirinale by Giorgio Napolitano, President of the Italian Republic, the prize is awarded by the Leonardo Italian Quality Committee to young students or individuals working in the fashion sector. Based on an analysis of fashion in the context of the current economic situation, future developments and strategies for promoting “Made in Italy” fashion products are discussed.
