An orientation day exclusively for those interested in Polimoda Courses and Masters Courses. You can visit the Institute in the premises of Villa Favard, in the heart of Florence, and meet the Heads of Department who are available to advise you on your choice of career in the world of fashion and the training course most suited to your requirements.

18 June 2013 marks the start of the Polimoda Fashion Week with the Polimoda Fashion Show 2013, the showcase event for the graduating fourth-year Fashion Design students and the Fashion Technology third-years.

For its students, Polimoda organises the “Guest Lectures”, a series of seminars with illustrious guests and experts from the fashion industry, marketing and communication, at the Aula Magna of Villa Favard, Polimoda’s completely restored new headquarters.
These events, combined with a teaching staff made up of experts and professionals with many years’ experience in the fashion sector, ensure a cutting-edge training, constantly updated and aligned with the professional reality, direct evidence of the latest trends in the fashion industry and a practical approach to the world of work.

The award ceremony will be held during Pitti Immagine Uomo, June 2013
Work has started on the special initiative between Moon Boot ® and Polimoda, involving approximately fifty 3rd year students from Marketing Management and Communication courses together with the Masters course in Fashion Communication.
This contest will explore the strength of the great Moon Boot ® history and the charm of young communication professionals of the future.
There are many possible proposals but only the best will be awarded in June 2013 during Pitti Immagine Uomo.
A contest therefore, highlighting young talent that, during the coming months, will develop a project dedicated to the Moon Boot ® brand.

Two industrial venues open their doors to fashion and fashion education. Polimoda’s installation in Via Tortona builds a bridge between the past and the future (of fashion) between two locations and two institutions, two cities, countries, cultures and continents.
The bridge between Milano and Florence is the starting point for debate, error and de-construction of the past to invent the bridge for the future.
Designers, writers, researchers and photographers are connecting with buyers, retailers, fashion companies and the fashion media. The installation is linking the past and the future.
The wall is the bridge. The garments connect people.

Eleonora Bruno, a Polimoda former student, was one of the eight finalists of H&M Design Award 2013.
The participants at the contest were able to create their own collection, which has marched during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Stockholm.

On 1 March 2012 the Europeana Fashion project was launched. This exciting three-year project, co-funded by the European Commission within the ICT Policy Support Programme, will publish online by March 2015 over 700,000 fashion-related digital objects, ranging from historical dresses to accessories, photographs, posters, drawings, sketches, videos, and fashion catalogues.
Europeana Fashion is a best practice network of 22 partners, representing the leading public and private museums, archives and collections from 12 European countries.

Vintage. The irresistible charm of the past
From the youth protest movements of the sixties to the evolution of fashion trends to the analysis of vintage as a real costume media phenomenon

In 800m² of exhibition space with over one hundred items including clothing, accessories and textiles, the exhibition illustrates how the practice of used objects has, over time, been able to promote the concept of an irresistible charm in all things second hand, creating a real costume phenomenon, today for the first time investigated in a scientific manner through a dedicated cultural initiative.
The exhibition space comprises four thematic cores, focusing ideally on the most significant moments on the journey that has made vintage a contemporary trend, universally identified and easily recognized.
This pathway showing the evolution of the vintage style has been made possible thanks to the collaboration from A.N.G.E.L.O. Vintage Clothing, one of the most important Italian vintage archives, as well as the generosity of prestigious fashion houses such as Gucci, Salvatore Ferragamo, Pucci, Max Mara.

Culture of Fashion and Talent for Polimoda Fashion Week (January, from 8 to 11)
Talent and Fashion Culture are the keys to the next POLIMODA FASHION WEEK, which takes place from January 8 to 11, 2013 during Pitti Uomo 83.
The protagonists of this edition are two POLIMODATALENTS: Erïk Bjerkesjö, who recently won Who Is On Next?/Pitti Uomo, and Yojiro Kake.

With the new edition of the Polimoda Fashion Week and Pitti Uomo, in January 2012 a new “nursery” of talents comes to birth: POLIMODATALENT. A launching-pad, comprising shows, installations, talks, workshops and a location of outstanding artistic value devoted to the former Polimoda students, youngsters with a passionate interest in design, marketing and communication, who present their vision of the future of fashion. In the new premises of Villa Favard, in a beautiful and ancient architectural complex, each semester the Director Linda Loppa and her team will select a young talent from among the most deserving former students to display the collections, innovative marketing concepts and communication projects of tomorrow.
At Villa Favard, a series of seminars with illustrious guests and experts for a direct evidence from the Fashion System.
