Linda Loppa, Dean of Polimoda, will be member of the 2010 PV AWARDS jury.
After the success of this first edition, hailed by the fashion and textile professionals and widely reported on in the international press, Première Vision is launching a new edition of the PV AWARDS during the September 2010 show and going even further, by adding a 5th prize to the award categories: The Special Woolmark Prize 2010.
Promoting fashion textiles, their creativity and inventiveness, over the course of seasonal collections has been the foundation of Première Vision's approach since its start. The PV Awards were created to put the spotlight on the weavers' work, and showcase the richness of textile creation by distinguishing the most exceptional fabrics created by the show's exhibitors
Ennio Capasa of Costume National will head up a jury of international names from the worlds of textile and fashion, each contributing the specific viewpoint of his or her own area of activity. The jury’s final deliberation will take place during Première Vision, on the last day of the show.

Polimoda’s Marketing Department is organizing a study tour to China for its students. Leaving on 21 April, students will travel to Bejing and Xian, and the trip will end with a visit to Expo 2010 in Shangai: the theme is “Better City, Better Life”, dealing with the quality of life in urban environments. The tour offers a unique opportunity to discover one of the most important countries for the economy of the 21st century and for international markets.
14 April, Palazzo Morando, Milan.
Polimoda and Frette are collaborating as part of the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the famous homewear company. During the preview for the opening of “The Thread of Dreams” exhibition at Palazzo Morando, the live performance “Home Couture Home” will showcase ten creations designed by fashion stylist Angelo Figus and produced by a group of former students from the Florentine institute: Ugo Santoni, Eliana Cini, Federica Pascale, Julia Sais Artiga e Daniele Davitti.
Summer 2010, Florence
Audi Firenze promote a competition open to Polimoda students of the Design Area, offering a study grant for attending a Course or a Masters Course in the Polimoda Design Department for the academic year 2010/2011.
Participants have to create a design proposal consisting of 5 creations inspired by the style of the Audi A1.
The best projects will be exposed on the occasion of the presentation of the new Audi A1, to be organized by Audi Firenze in September.

17 April, Palazzo Corsini, Florence.
The creations of 3 students of the Advanced Fashion Design Masters course, Caterina Montagni, Smajlovic Dorde e He Jiani, will be on show. Reinterpretations of vintage clothing, the Polimoda garments will compete with those of other international schools of fashion – the Institut Français de la Mode, Paris, the Royal College of Arts, London, and the Fashion Institute of Technology, New York – on the occasion of the annual vintage charity auction at Palazzo Corsini, “Young Designers for Calcutta” (from 16 to 18 April).

The latest title in the Polimoda Fashion Marketing series: “Temporary Store. La strategia dell’effimero” by Francesca Zorzetto and Francesco Catalano will be presented as part of the “Fuori Salone” (Salone fringe) events in Milan, at “Librerie.Coop meets Design”. Participating in the discussion will be the authors and architect Paolo Lucchetta.
Published on 8 April, the book is on sale in all major bookshops.
